Simon Neville lives in London and is a postgraduate newspaper journalism student at City University.
Before arriving at City Simon studied for an MA in Politics at Edinburgh University, completing his studies in 2008.
He has had over 90 articles published in the regional and national press in the UK, including two splashes in the Glasgow Evening Times and the Daily Telegraph, and a front page exclusive in the News of the World – the UK’s biggest selling newspaper.
During his time at University in Edinburgh he worked regularly for the Scotsman as a news reporter and for the Edinburgh Evening News as a feature writer and occasional news reporter.
He was also the Edinburgh Evening News Fringe Festival daily columnist in 2006 and 2007. During both these columns he also performed in two Fringe shows – Murder At The Savoy in 2006 and Guilds in 2007.
Currently he contributes to Zoe Griffin’s Showbiz column in the Sunday Mirror.
In addition to the Scotsman and Edinburgh Evening News other experience includes time spend at the Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph, The Times, and the Glasgow Evening Times.
His passions include the theatre, politics (although he makes it clear he is not affiliated to any particular party), all things journalism and cooking.
The people he would most like to meet are Jon Stewart and Chris Morris and would most like to interview Gordon Brown’s mistress*
(*In no way is Simon suggesting Gordon Brown has a mistress, but the idea of interviewing a potential mistress would be very amusing.)
